Another Pixie for the Records

Megan's gonna looove this...

I swear I do more than pixie cuts...it must just be contagious! And truthfully...I'm just so dizamn good at them! Why be shy about it?

Teri was on the fence about cutting her hair into a pixie until she met Cait, and BAM! Decision made! I think she made the right decision...don't you?

She's so gorgeous, and I love how the cut really highlights her beautiful face!

I also love the color. Full weave of new blondes and pale caramel "lowlights".

Little longer on the left side to jazz it up a bit!

I freaking love it!

Thoughts, people?

Keisha, Keisha Bo Beisha

This girl is a long time client of mine, and so freaking hilarious! I so enjoy when she visits my chair!

This last appointment of hers, was a veeery special one. This appointment involved locks of love!
Yes, I'm a picture swiper

Before the choppity-chop...

And after! I think the change is so refreshing!
She pulls off whatever she freaking wants with great ease! Lucky duck...

Prego Mego

I generally refrain from using the words "prego" or "preggers". Basically because I think they are, well, disgusting.

But in the case of my friend, Meagan, and her gestating belly...I found it quite fitting.

New layers, new bangs and subtle caramel highlights!

Must prepare self for arrival of baby! So happy I could help with that!

I so enjoyed reuniting with Meagan after such a long time, and then I had the pleasure of seeing her two days later at her baby shower! Lucky me! So excited for her to have her little baby boy in December!

Oooo Oooo Oooo!

Brace yourselves...

For this cut is quite a doozy!

Yes, this cut is uh.mazing on Cait...but check out below!

SEE!? Doesn't this cut totally suit her!?

I'm really loving the pixie cut these days, and I'm so happy so many clients are entrusting me with their hair for this change!

The Winds of Change

Fall is a great time for that...change, that is.

Remember this blonde bombshell?

Well we turned that bombshell into super-foxy-Angela!
YOWZA!

Cait, Cait Bo Bait

My new favorite cut!

By me, of course...
Was that implied?

The Bridal 'Do

Here are a few close ups of Shaley's bridal hair.

These were for the bridal/groomal session #1

Roman's hair is also courtesy of moi. Cut, not the style...he can do his own hair. :)

I have to say I'm pretty proud of this "updo", and Shaley rocked it!

Locks o' Love

Believe it or not, after five years of doing hair I have never had a client ask me to
chop their locks and send them off to Locks of Love. Ever!

I was thrilled to grant Dee's wishes of a shorter 'do, and help her give those kids with cancer something they really need!

{before}

{after}
Isn't she ADORABLE? I'm in love the finished product!

It was so great meeting you, Dee! I'm so happy you could be my first L.O.L client!

{Insert Clever Title Here}

I'm just too stunned for words.
It's been talked about, and imagined, but never had we followed through.

Until now!

There was much hyperventilating and eyes closed tightly (not mine) as we took the first snip.

{before}

Golden locks cascading down the back of the chair for the last time!

{after}
Alternating highlight and lowlight weave

I, and Marie too, are so pleased with the finished product! I received a text later saying, "Love my hair, no regrets!"

My favorite picture! Marie got so excited about trying a curly style now that her hair doesn't weigh 800 lbs, and I love it!

World of News...Here She Comes!

"Broadcast Live from Metropolitan Salon in Provo!"

Ok, that's cheesy...but that's just me.

Amy is a broadcast major at BYU (and also another PHS alumni), and was instructed that she must cut her hair in order to get a job as a broadcaster-girl-person....uhhh...I'm not really "in the know" on the terms.

{before}

{after}
She's hot! Right?
What a looker!
It sure helps that she was beautiful to begin with!

How could anyone deny this lovely lady a job on camera!?

Nickell's {B&A}

This is THE Nickell. The one who I babysit for every Tuesday.

The one whose son probably couldn't get cuter. If he did, I might die.

Nickell also has a whole hail of a lot of hair as well, and I couldn't help but enjoy hacking away at it with my razor. The same razor that reared its ugly head at me the next day.

Just what I like: the kind of client that reminds me to take a {before} picture. Too bad it was after we'd washed it, and cut four inches off the back.

And after all this...

We get this! Ain't she a beauty!?

Such a darling cut on her, and we all know how much I love the A-line! A little (lot) of razoring gave it a little extra somethin'.

Dear Bride

(also named Caitlin, different spelling, 'course),

It was a pleasure doing your bridal and wedding hair! Thank you for trusting me with this task, and helping me to increase my "updo" confidence.

P.S: you looked b.e.a.u-tiful!

My favorite view, and fortunately the best bun of all three of the updo's we did on Cait (consultation, bridals, wedding).

* * * * *

P.P.S: this girl's got styyyyyle!

This post wouldn't be complete without seeing Cait all done up.
Especially with her I.N.C.R.E.D.B.I.L.E veil. My favorite veil ever. Ever.
Did I say I love it already?

Pockets! Ever considered pockets on your wedding dress? We are fools (those of us that did not).

Clearly I couldn't choose one favorite. She's just such a beautiful, chic bride!
{photography by Adorre Photography}

P.P.S.S: it was actually 100% worth it to get up at 6:45 A.M. to do your hair for your big day. And if you know me at all, you know I'm NOT morning person.

Pure Finishing

My awesome salon sent me and a few other stylists up to SLC for a Pureology class focused on product knowledge and "finish work", which is Pureology's term for up-do's.

The class was extremely informative, so much fun, and successful...in terms of the finishing part.

My chignon! Isn't she perty!?

Such a neat way to cover up the ponytail holder: separate a section of hair above the ear to overdirect and wrap around the ponytail, securing it with a bobby pin (or "fastener" as Pureology calls it).

Two sweet pincurls secured with loose fasteners (hair pins). Surprisingly simple!

I was so inspired by this look that I incorporated it a little into a lil' photo shoot I was in.

Boi-Oi-Oing!

Forgive me, I'm terribly tardy in posting the AFTER of Ashley's cut!

Oh my hail (southern-sensor), you are going to love it...

TOLD YOU!
